Business Workshops

BACP ensures a fair and vibrant marketplace for both businesses and consumers. BACP licenses businesses and public vehicles provide business education and access to resources, enforces the Municipal Code, and protects consumers from fraud.

 

The Department of Business Affairs & Consumer Protection (BACP) offers workshops every Wednesday and Friday. Workshops vary each month and are conducted by City Officials, experts, and partner business organizations. 

All workshops are free, and open to the public. Workshops are held at BACP's offices located in Room 805 and Room 1103 at City Hall, 121 N. LaSalle St., Chicago, IL  60602. To register for a workshop please email BACPoutreach@cityofchicago.org or call 312.744.2086. 

The small business solution station is one of the many quality programs provided by the City of Chicago Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection (BACP). BACP is committed to providing new and existing entrepreneurs an array of supportive services, such as free workshops, expos, seminars, and opportunities for businesses to connect with other important business resources.

​If you are interested in opening a business in the 45th Ward that would require a Public Place of Amusement (PPA) and/or liquor license, please schedule an appointment with Alderman Jim Gardiner to discuss your proposed business. Please email the ward office at ward45@cityofchicago.org or call (773) 853-0799 to schedule an appointment with the Alderman or a member of his staff.
